#034 Jesus Teaches At Capernaum (Matthew 8:14-34; Mark 1:21-31; Luke 4:31-39) - Life of Christ = Week 07 - Thursday

Healing of a Demon-Possessed Man

Mark 1:21–26Luke 4:31–35

Mk 1:21Then they went into Capernaum, and right away He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and began to teach.… 23Just then a man with an unclean spirit [Lk 4:33unclean demonic spirit] was in their synagogue. He cried out, 24“What do You have to do with us, Jesus—Nazarene? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

25But Jesus rebuked him and said, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26And the unclean spirit convulsed him, shouted with a loud voice, and came out of him.

Amazement at Jesus’ Authority

Mark 1:2227–28Luke 4:3236–37

Mk 1:22They were astonished at His teaching because, unlike the scribes, He was teaching them as one having authorityLk 4:36They were all struck with amazement and kept saying to one another, “What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, Mk 1:27b–28and they obey Him.” 28His fame then spread throughout the entire vicinity of Galilee.
